Getting started
Is it really free, or will I have to pay later?
Your account, dog’s listing, share link, Facebook Page post and starter with 1,000 reach guaranteed are free. We fund the starter boosting. Paid upgrades are optional; declining one does not hide your listing or lock your sightings. No card or $1 verification charge is required to get started.
Can I claim more than one free starter?
Return to your existing account to sign in or update your alert. The free starter is limited to one per account and verified email. If you have lost access or need help with another dog, contact Conor rather than creating another account.
What do I need to submit?
A clear photo, your dog’s name and description, and where and when they were last seen. These details are saved as a draft in this browser while you create and verify your account, then used to publish your listing. Use the last-seen location, which may be different from your home. Include useful markings and temperament details, but keep your home address, phone number and other private information out of the public description.
Can I help someone else whose dog is missing?
Yes. Help them gather the photo and last-seen details, and share their listing. The owner should create the account so they receive sightings and control updates. If you need to manage it on their behalf, contact us first and make sure you have permission to publish their dog’s details.
Do I need Facebook or a separate app?
No. You can use Find Dogs Fast in your phone’s browser. We publish and manage the Facebook and Instagram advertising through our account. You do not need to give us your Facebook password or install an app.
Which countries can I submit a dog in?
The owner app supports the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and New Zealand. Your dog’s last-seen area determines the advertising location. A currency choice does not change the supported country or automatically make every location suitable for a campaign.
Your free starter & reach
How does the 1,000 reach guarantee work?
We share your dog on our Facebook Page and fund boosting until the accepted starter reaches at least 1,000 in Meta’s reporting. We cover that funding, even if you later buy an upgrade. Your report shows the measured progress and the period it covers. This is a reach commitment, not a promise of sightings or recovery.
Where will you post my dog?
Your dog gets a public website listing and a post on the Find Dogs Fast Facebook Page. We do not automatically post in every local Facebook group. You can share the listing in your own groups, with neighbours and with people helping you search.
How soon will the post and ads be running?
The website listing, Facebook Page post and advertising are separate steps. Your dashboard shows each step’s status. A published listing does not mean the Facebook post or ad is already live: preparation, checks and Meta’s ad review can take time. We do not promise an instant launch or a fixed time to reach 1,000.
Are all 1,000 people guaranteed to be inside a particular radius?
The ads target the area around the last-seen location, and your report shows that configured area. A targeting radius is not proof of every viewer’s exact location. Organic Page views may come from outside the area. We do not describe all organic reach as local or silently widen the area just to meet the number.
Can you guarantee that my dog will be found?
No. We help people recognise your dog and provide a way to send possible sightings. Reach, clicks and shares cannot guarantee a reunion. Keep using local groups, posters, vets, shelters and your microchip register alongside your alert.
Optional advertising & prices
Why add advertising if I have already shared everywhere?
A normal post relies on shares, followers and the platform’s unpaid recommendations. It can stall with a small audience, even when the information matters. Paid advertising pays Facebook and Instagram to show your dog’s photo to a selected audience around the last-seen area, including people who do not follow our Page or belong to your groups. That is what the ad spend buys: more opportunities for someone nearby to recognise your dog. Organic posts can also spread widely, so there is no fixed hundreds-or-thousands ceiling. Keep using groups, posters and your other search efforts too.
What are the upgrade options, and where does my money go?
Choose a total payment of 20, 50 or 100 in GBP, USD, EUR, AUD or NZD. You pay us once. We pay 70%—14, 35 or 70—directly to Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, as advertising spend while your ads run. That money buys distribution of your dog’s ad. The remaining 30%—6, 15 or 30—is our fee for setup, management and reporting. These are the same local price points in each currency, not exchange-rate equivalents. The currency and full split are shown before payment.
Does an upgrade pay for the free starter?
No. We already fund the free starter’s boosting towards its 1,000 reach guarantee; it is not limited to organic posting. Your upgrade adds advertising funds to reach further and does not replace our starter commitment. The report separates the free starter from your purchased advertising so you can see what your money added.
Is this a subscription or an automatic top-up?
No. Each upgrade is a one-off payment that you choose. We do not automatically charge you again when the budget runs out. You can keep using your listing and reading sightings without buying more advertising.
How much extra reach or radius does each price buy?
Estimated additional paid reach is 3,000–5,000 people for the 20 option, 7,500–12,500 for 50, and 20,000–25,000 for 100. These package planning ranges apply to the displayed options in each supported currency. They are not guaranteed results, a measured average or a Meta forecast for your location. Actual reach can fall outside the range. There is no fixed people-per-dollar or kilometre-per-package promise. Reach depends on the available audience, area, timing and advertising costs. The campaign plan shows the proposed targeting and any available estimate separately from actual results. A bigger budget does not necessarily mean a wider radius.
Will the 100 option reach 200,000 people?
Paying for distribution makes it possible to reach well beyond the audience of an ordinary post. With sufficient advertising budget and a large enough local audience, an expanded campaign may reach 100,000–200,000 people. That is not the expected or guaranteed result of the 100 option. Contact us for a larger campaign plan and estimate; the small upgrade options have their own illustrative ranges.
Can I just boost a post myself?
Yes. You can run your own ads if you are comfortable setting them up. Our 30% fee covers preparing the advert, setting the audience, managing delivery and reporting. If you already have ads running, tell us before buying another campaign so we can discuss possible overlap.
What happens after I pay?
First, your payment must be confirmed. We then prepare the campaign and submit the ad for Meta’s review. Your dashboard distinguishes preparation, review and actual delivery. A payment receipt or preview alone does not mean the ad is running.
Progress & your report
How can I tell whether anything has actually happened?
Check your dashboard for the public listing link, Facebook post link once published, advert preview, delivery status and dated results. A preview shows the creative; delivery figures show whether it has run. If a step is queued, under review or delayed, it should say so rather than appear complete.
What is the difference between reach, impressions and sightings?
Reach is Meta’s estimate of the number of people reached within the stated reporting scope and period. Impressions count displays, so one person can generate several. A sighting is a separate report from someone who thinks they saw your dog. Neither reach nor impressions confirm attention, a sighting or a recovery.
Can I add the starter and upgrade reach together?
Not as a total of different people. The same person may see both campaigns, several days of ads or both Facebook and Instagram placements. We show the reporting scope and period, and keep separate figures separate unless Meta supplies a combined figure that removes duplicate viewers.
Are the numbers live, and what does a blank result mean?
Look at the last successful update time and reporting dates. Figures may lag while Meta processes delivery or a report refresh is delayed. A blank or “not available yet” result means there is no confirmed figure to show; it is not automatically zero. Previous data should keep its original timestamp when an update fails.
Why is the advertising allocation different from actual spend?
The allocation is the 70% set aside to pay Meta directly for Facebook and Instagram advertising. It is separate from our 30% service fee. Actual spend is what Meta reports having used to deliver your ads so far. They can differ while a campaign is running or after it stops early. Your payment is committed once the paid campaign goes live. Any advertising funds not yet spent remain non-refundable under the cancellation policy; the report still shows actual Meta spend separately from the allocated budget.
What if my ad is delayed, rejected or not spending?
Check the campaign status and last update, then contact Conor with your listing link if you need help. A failed or delayed step is not completed delivery, and buying another upgrade is not the way to fix it. We need to resolve the delivery problem and explain the next step; cancellation depends on whether any ad delivery has begun.
Sightings, privacy & trust
Do I have to pay to read or report a sighting?
No. Owners can read reports in their private dashboard without an upgrade. Someone reporting a possible sighting through the public listing does not need an account or payment. A place, time and useful description help the owner follow up.
How will I hear about a possible sighting?
Reports submitted through your listing appear in your private dashboard. Check it regularly while your dog is missing. We may also contact you at your verified email address about your alert. A submitted sighting is a lead to assess rather than a verified match.
Will you monitor all the local groups for me?
No. We do not monitor every Facebook group, other lost-pet website or conversation. Our dashboard brings together reports submitted through your Find Dogs Fast listing. Continue checking other places where you or your helpers have shared the alert.
Will my email or exact location be public?
Your account’s email is private. We do not require a phone number. The public listing shows your dog’s photo, description and last-seen area, not the private map coordinates. Do not put private contact details or your home address into the public description or photo. Sightings and the sender’s contact information are available to the listing owner.
Will you ask me to send someone a verification code?
Enter your account verification code only in the official sign-up or sign-in screen you opened. Never send it to someone claiming to have your dog or to a person messaging you as support. We do not need your Facebook password, banking password or a payment to unlock a sighting.
Someone says they have my dog and wants money. What should I do?
Treat the claim cautiously. Ask for current, convincing evidence and specific details; a photo alone may not settle whether the claim is genuine. Do not send release fees, gift cards or cryptocurrency to an unverified stranger. Buying advertising from us is separate from any reward or demand from a finder. Contact us if a suspicious message came through your listing.
Who runs Find Dogs Fast? Is this a Meta service?
Conor runs Find Dogs Fast and manages the advertising. You can contact him at conor@finddogsfast.com and read the story on our About page. Find Dogs Fast is an independent service; using Facebook and Instagram ads does not mean Meta endorses us or guarantees a recovery.
Changes, stopping & refunds
Can I correct the listing or change the search area?
Sign in to update the dog’s name or description. If the photo, last-seen details or advertising area need changing, contact Conor with your listing link. Updates to the website, Facebook post and active advert are separate steps, so check the status before assuming every copy has changed.
What should I do when my dog comes home?
Choose “My dog is home” in your dashboard. This marks the listing reunited and requests a stop to further advertising. Ads can continue briefly until Meta confirms the pause. If your paid campaign has already gone live, its funds remain committed and non-refundable even when you ask us to stop. Your report still shows the actual spend. Let people in your other groups know too.
Can I get a refund after paying?
For a new owner-app upgrade, you can request a full refund after payment and before that paid campaign goes live. Once the paid ads are live, your payment is committed and non-refundable, including any ad funds not yet spent if the campaign stops early. A free starter already running does not remove the pre-launch refund option for a separate paid upgrade. Contact conor@finddogsfast.com with your listing link. Earlier orders retain their original terms, and your applicable consumer rights are unaffected.
What if I cannot sign in or need help with my alert?
Contact conor@finddogsfast.com with your listing link and a short explanation. Never send your password, full card details or a verification code. You do not need to purchase an upgrade to ask for help with your existing listing.
